Minnesota Court Records Online (MCRO) is an online application that provides public access to Minnesota state district court records and documents. Once it is fully developed and implemented, MCRO will replace Minnesota Public Access (MPA) Remote. MCRO Phase 2 is now available. Phase 2 features a new Case Search tab that allows users to search for court cases by person name, business name, attorney name, case number, citation number, or attorney bar number.

The information available on MPA Remote is limited to case search results, registers of action, civil judgments, and court calendars for publicly accessible district court case records, as defined by Rule 4 of the Minnesota Rules of Public Access to Records of the Judicial Branch. Electronic copies of public documents are not available at this time through MPA Remote.

Cases and proceedings filed with the U.S.Bankruptcy Court for the District of Minnesota in 1999 and thereafter are maintained electronically and are available through the internet-based Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) service. To access court records through PACER, one must first register for a PACER login and password (see www.pacer.psc.uscourts.gov). While there is no charge to register for PACER, there is a $.10 per page charge for access to court records.

Types of Minnesota Court Records Minnesota trial court documents include district county files with documents like pleadings, case orders, and other findings from the court. You cannot view actual court documents online except for when you use the public access system terminal at the courthouse. There is one at the State Library as well.
